Breitbart not so brave?
Ignoring a border solution
SEIDARM system detects and tracks suspects near the Mexico border (Sierra Vista Herald)
Glenn Spencer -- American Border Patrol
Courage has its limits
I have spent fourteen years in Arizona trying to find solutions to the border problem. Some say I have found it - SEIDARM. Yet, during this entire time only one newspaper has regularly reported on my work --- The Sierra Vista Herald.
What other coverage I did get mostly consisted of repeats of attacks on me by the Southern Poverty Law Center.
For the past six years I have been working on perfecting system to detect and locate people crossing our border between ports of entry. It is now called SEIDARM. This system has been at two large border technology trade shows. On both occasions my booth was visited by a writer/editor for Breitbart News, Sylvia Longmire.
Longmire specializes in border issues --- especially drug smuggling, and is well aware of my work.
In all of her stories about the border, including one about how Texas might use surveillance blimps on the border, she has not written a word about me or SEIDARM --- technology that holds the promise of truly solving the border problem.
I can only conclude that either Breitbart is not interested in solving the border problem, or they agree that I run a hate group --- although there is no evidence of that.
It is more likely that Breitbart/Longmire is fearful of the reaction of the mainstream media --- and her government contacts --- if she reported on my work --- just like everybody else.
Even with Breitbart, courage has its limits.
PS: No doubt to please her Homeland Security buddies, Longmire's Twitter page features a huge photo of the Predator drone --- one of the more costly mistakes of DHS/CBP --- "Audit: DHS Drone Program Ineffective at Border Security"
