Trump border wall -- a way
to make sure it works?

Glenn Spencer -- January 27
BORDAS -- Border Detection and Accounting System
    President Trump's executive order gives the DHS Secretary 180 days to: "Produce a comprehensive study of the security of the southern border... to obtain and maintain complete operational control of the southern border."
    But we can't even measure operational control.
    For more than six years, American Border Patrol has been testing a system to detect and identify suspected border intruders. It was designed to measure operational control of the border --- and it works.
    Next week, I am going to send an unsolicited proposal to the Department of Homeland Security to install this technology immediately. I call the system BORDAS for Border Detection and Accounting System.
    The purpose of BORDAS will be to:
    1. Provide immediate improvement in border security;
    2. Establish a means of setting priorities for the border wall; and
    3. Establish a means of assessing the degree of operational control achieved by the border wall.
    The proposal will show exactly where BORDAS can be installed and how long it will take to install it (much faster than people realize). The cost will fit within the current DHS/CBP budget - no money from Congress or Mexico.
    I hope that the Trump administration will give my proposal serious consideration.
