In face of Trump's sanctuary city crackdown, LA introduces immigrant rights 'advocate'
A prominent immigrant rights attorney who fought against Proposition 187 will give legal advice to Los Angeles city leaders about any Donald Trump administration's immigration policies that could affect Angelenos.
Peter Schey, founder and president of the Center for Human Rights and Constitutional Law Foundation, will be paid $1 a year, essentially serving on a “pro-bono” basis as the city's immigrant advocate and “legal counsel” on the sanctuary city issue, according to Fredy Ceja, an aide for Councilman Gil Cedillo.

Peter Schey --- How Donald Trump became President of the United States
(And why the mainstream media don't want my voice to be heard)
In June 1982, the Supreme Court issued Plyler v. Doe, a landmark decision holding that states cannot constitutionally deny students a free public education on account of their immigration status. This, many argued, opened the door to massive illegal immigration.
In 1982, Hispanics represented about 35% of Los Unified School District students. Today, LAUSD's Hispanic population is over 73%.
Facing a flood of illegal immigration, in 1994 the people of California passed Proposition 187.
According to its co-author, Alan C. Nelson, head of the INS under President Reagan, the main purpose of Proposition 187 was to challenge Plyer v. Doe.
Proposition 187 never reached the Supreme Court because California Gov. Gray Davis stopped it --- even though it was his duty to support the decision of the people. Very few understand that the illegal path that Davis followed to kill 187 was laid out by Peter Schey.
Even fewer understand that Peter Schey was the lawyer who won the original 1982 Plyer vs. Doe decision before the Supreme Court.
Working with Gov. Davis, Schey made sure that his victory over the people of America was not challenged by the people of California.
As Mario Obledo promised twenty years ago, California is now a Hispanic State.
It could be argued that it was the subversive activities of Peter Schey that led to the election of Donald Trump as President of the United States.
