What’s not to love?In August a new kind of TV news organization — CRTV — came to American Border Patrol’s ranch in the person of Michelle Malkin of Michelle Malkin Investigates.
WIKIPEDIA: She [Malkin] is a Fox News Channel contributor and has been a guest on MSNBC, C-SPAN, and national radio programs. Malkin has written four books published by Regnery Publishing. She founded the conservative web sites Twitchy and Hot Air. Malkin began her journalism career at the Los Angeles Daily News, working as a columnist from 1992 to 1994.
This week CRTV aired Michelle’s report. She is a professional journalist and her report shows it. In the two months since her visit, Michelle Malkin has taken the time to check out the facts. She and CRTV have poured over the footage they shot on my ranch and told a story that viewers can trust. It is the truth.
In the first part of her report Malkin spends time with border ranchers, including my neighbor and good friend, John Ladd. The second part focuses on SEIDARM and HERMES — parts of a border technology system that can detect and identify any person who tries to cross the border — anywhere on the border. It can also report on vehicles and airplanes – but not cows.
SEIDARM is an adaptation of seismic oil exploration technology and almost all of the hardware comes from that use. It is very reliable — and the cost would be a tiny fraction of a wall.
Michelle’s report shows how the technology works, and allows me to explain that there are some in Washington, D.C., that don’t like the idea because it would provide an objective measure of border security.
One can hardly watch television news these days without hearing one politician or another say that we don’t need a wall — we need technology.
Just yesterday former Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge said of President Trump’s wall: “I don’t think we need it,” Ridge said. “I think there are things we can do with technology that foregoes the need to build a 3,000 mile border [wall] with a neighbor.” — The Hill
With all the focus on the border, one would think that ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox News and CNN would be beating a path to the ranch to see this fantastic new border technology.
