What the American People want: No DACA – no nothing until we have proof the border is secure FIRST
“Obama administration officials said on Thursday that they had resisted producing a single measure to assess the border because the president did not want any hurdles placed on the pathway to eventual citizenship for immigrants in the country illegally. “— New York Times, March 21, 2013

Speaking at a campaign rally in Phoenix in 2016, President Trump said:
“In several years, when we have accomplished all of our enforcement goals — and truly ended illegal immigration for good, including the construction of a great wall, and the establishment of our new lawful immigration system — then and only then will we be in a position to consider the appropriate disposition of those who remain. That discussion can only take place in an atmosphere in which illegal immigration is a memory of the past, allowing us to weigh the different options available based on the new circumstances at the time.”
Donald Trump was elected president in large measure because of that promise.
President George W. Bush promised to secure the border, however Operation BEEF proved he was not serious. He now languishes in the dustbin of history.
Over and over again It has been shown that one thing open borders people fear is an objective measure of border security — a metric.
If we can find a microbe under a rock on Mars, we can count the number of people crossing our borders.
America could have a system that measures border security in a fraction of the time necessary to build a wall — which should still be built — in some places.
President Trump should call upon America’s technical talent and move ahead to establish a border metric — quickly.
Behind the scenes, open borders people have subverted efforts at using an objective border metric, but President Trump could make them do it in open congressional debate — then the American people will learn what they are all about.
President Trump should immediately implement a border metric for the same reason the Obama administration feared one.
